Media Release: Girls of Impact on Gayelle TV
Girls of Impact’s Executive Director was featured on Gayelle TV’s “Talk Out of the Box” television programme.
Renee Atwell, Founder and Executive Director of the newly established Non-Profit Organisation, Girls of Impact (GOI), was featured on Gayelle TV’s “Talk Out of the Box” television programme on Sunday 6th March 2022 at Gayelle TV’s studio in St. Joseph, Trinidad. Host, Jilean Fabian extended the opportunity to the GOI Team to highlight the work and vision of the NPO as a prelude to the NPO’s soft launch and commemoration of International Women’s Day which is celebrated on the 8th of March annually.
Ms. Atwell navigated the programme quite flawlessly as she journeyed through her career as an Attorney at Law and her role as Trinidad and Tobago’s CARICOM Youth Ambassador and most recently, Founder and Executive Director of the Girls of Impact Trinidad and Tobago. She shared an overview of GOI’s purpose stating that the organisation is a community for ambitious and impactful young women who desire to succeed in education, career, and entrepreneurship. She further explained that the organisation was created out of a desire to foster a community for underserved young women to access resources to succeed in life while creating a lasting social impact.

When asked about her drive and passion for conceptualizing the NPO at such a young age as well as her other professional endeavours, she took the opportunity to share with viewers, the challenges experienced in materializing this vision for her life. She said, “notwithstanding the financial and personal hurdles I was determined to navigate in materializing my dreams”…“I started from humble beginnings, when I decided to study law, I was faced with the financial reality and subsequent self talk. Although the vision appeared impossible, God made a way”.
When asked how she is able to balance, her legal career, her NPO work, her CARICOM Youth Ambassador role and the many other hats she wears, she attributed her success to her faith. She confidently stated, “my faith in God keeps me grounded.”
Speaking about the upcoming plans for Girls of Impact, Ms Atwell noted that one of the core pillars of GOI is mentorship which will include several programmes within the upcoming months.
Ms Atwell is supported on this mission by a diverse team of professionals and multiskilled young women who share a similar vision and passion for the upliftment of young women in T&T.
