International Women’s Day Symposium
At Girls of Impact T&T, International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration, it’s a call to action. Every year, we bring together young women, thought leaders, and changemakers to engage in meaningful discussions, skill-building workshops, and mentorship opportunities that empower young women to lead, grow, and thrive.
Our International Women’s Day Symposium is a platform for equipping young women with the knowledge, confidence, and networks they need to break barriers and create meaningful change. Through interactive sessions on leadership, self-confidence, financial literacy, and health & wellness, we provide a space for learning, empowerment, and collective action.
International Women's Day
International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8th, is a global movement recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while calling for action to accelerate gender equality. It serves as a reminder of the progress made and the work still needed to create a world where every woman and girl can reach her full potential.
IWD is an opportunity to amplify women’s voices, challenge barriers, and inspire future generations to take action. It is a day to reflect on progress, honor the contributions of women in every field, and commit to creating inclusive spaces where women can thrive.
2024 Include Her Empowerment Symposium
Our 2024 IWD Symposium: “Include Her” focused on fostering inclusivity, leadership, and empowerment for young women in Trinidad. Through interactive workshops, inspiring keynotes, and networking opportunities, we provided a space for young women to gain the confidence and skills needed to take up leadership roles in their communities and beyond. This event was held at the Bon Air West Community Center and saw approximately 50 young women engaging with an exciting line-up of speakers including Charlene Pedro, Jessica James and Renee Baines-Keller. 2025 Action For Her Future Empowerment Symposium
For IWD 2025, we took the symposium to Tobago, ensuring young women across the island had access to impactful learning experiences. Themed “Action for Her Future”, this year’s symposium empowered over 150 participants with workshops on building confidence and self-image, financial literacy for future success and leadership and goal setting.
With the support of the YES Programme Unit of the Division of Community Development, Youth Development & Sport, this event was a catalyst for young women to take bold steps towards their personal and professional growth.
