The Accelerate Her Career Mentorship Programme is Girls of Impact’s flagship initiative, designed to equip young women aged 18–30 with the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to navigate their career journeys with confidence and purpose.

We understand the challenges young women face when entering the workforce or transitioning into new opportunities. Through Accelerate Her, we aim to bridge the gap by connecting participants with experienced mentors, providing tailored career guidance, and fostering leadership and professional growth.

What We Offer

PERSONALIZED MENTORSHIP

Mentees are paired with accomplished professionals from diverse industries who offer guidance, share expertise, and inspire personal and professional growth.

SKILL BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Practical sessions on topics like resume writing, interview preparation, networking, and personal branding ensure participants are workforce-ready.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Connect with industry leaders, peers, and mentors to build relationships that open doors to new opportunities.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Through targeted training, mentees learn to take initiative, build resilience, and lead with confidence in their respective fields.

Who Can Apply?

The Accelerate Her Career Mentorship Programme is open to young women aged 18–30 across Trinidad and Tobago. Whether you’re in school, entering the workforce, or seeking to advance your career, this programme is tailored to meet you where you are and help you reach your goals.

Things to Know

For Mentors

  • Eligibility: Professionals, entrepreneurs and industry leaders with a minimum of 5 years of experience in their field.
  • Commitment: Dedicate 1-2 hours per week for mentorship sessions and preparation.
  • Format: Mentorship sessions with mentees will be virtual.
  • Mentorship Role: Guide and support mentees through small group interactions.
  • Networking: Connect with fellow mentors and industry leaders.
  • Training: Orientation and resources provided to ensure a seamless mentorship experience.
  • Impact: Make a significant difference in the lives of young women and contribute to their professional growth.

For Mentees

  • Commitment: Dedicate 3-5 hours per week for mentoring sessions and workshops.
  • Hybrid Format: Combination of in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Mentorship: Small group mentorship with experienced professionals.
  • Workshops: Participate in career development and leadership training workshops.
  • Networking: Opportunities to connect with mentors, industry leaders, and peers.
  • Support: Access to resources, materials, and ongoing support throughout the programme.
  • Registration Fee: A small registration fee is required to cover administrative and logistical expenses.

Get Involved

Mentors will be required to attend an orientation session at the start of the programme and facilitate virtual meetings with their mentees throughout the programme. Applications for mentors are open until 30th May 2025.

Mentees will also be required to attend an orientation session at the start of the programme and attend virtual meetings with their mentor. Additionally, there will be a series of personal and professional development workshops for mentees on topics such as personal branding, resume writing, leadership and networking. Mentees will receive a Certificate of Participation upon successful completion of the Programme. Applications for mentees will open on 22nd May 2025.
